Frequently asked questions
What is the Declaration of Eligibility ?
California law states that if you hold a Class A, Class B or Commercial Class C drivers license, you are not eligible to attend or complete traffic school in lieu of adjudicating any traffic offense. ( This means professional truck drivers and bus drivers ) not individuals with the Standard Class C driver license which is what most of us have. By acknowledging this information you are indicating that you have been notified that drivers who hold a commercial license are not eligible to attend traffic school, and that the traffic school program you are about to complete holds no responsibility, or liability for your certificate to be accepted by the Court. Additionally no refunds will be granted based on the Court not accepting your certificate.
Penalty of Perjury Statment what is it ?
Court mandated rules require defendants to accept the Penalty of Perjury statement before a Certificate of Completion can be issued! By accepting this Penalty of Perjury you are indicating that you have been instructed by the court to attend traffic school and you alone will take this home study course to satisfy that requirement. The traffic school program you are about to complete holds no responsibility, or liability for the acceptance of your certificate by the Court. Additionally, no refunds will be granted based on the Court not accepting your certificate due to non-compliance with the terms of this Penalty of Perjury or any other reason determined by the court at it's discretion. Furthermore, you understand that if you do not accept the terms of the Penalty of Perjury statement a Certificate of Completion will NOT be issued.
Student Information Validation page what is it ?
This page comes up just before the final exam. It gives the student the opportunity to review and make any changes necessary to the information the student entered when the student registered for the course. This is important because the information will be entered on the certificate of completion by the the program and used by the court to process your certificate of completion.
Important note: The info validation page is not used for the ID verification process. The ID verification process thru Idology is a separate process.

The average completion time varies but most of our students are able to complete this course significantly quicker than 8 hours but of course this depends on your individual reading and comprehension skills. This course is not timed. The quicker you read, and comprehend the quicker you can get done.
How many quizzes/exams are there?
This Traffic School internet course is designed in 6 sections. Each section has a 10 question practice quiz (multiple-choice and true/false). In each section there will be a KEYWORD which you should write down when you come across it in the section chapter text, because you will need to answer the keyword question correctly prior to beginning each quiz. The final exam consists mostly of 25 questions mainly taken directly from the chapter quizzes. You must pass the final exam with a score of 80% or higher.
Note : If your county requires you to take your final exam thru a third party provider ( Coordinated Court Services or NTSA ) The number of final exam questions will be from 40 questions to 45 muliple choice questions.

Can I review the chapters ( study guides ) before I take the final exam?
Yes, you can review the study guides ( chapters ) before you take the final exam. When you get to the final exam page you may click on any of the study guides shown on the page and review the chapter material.
Note: You will not be able to access the chapter material before you reach the final exam unless you fail a chapter quiz, if this happens you will be sent back to the chapter ( study guide ) to review the material and retake the quiz. The quiz must be passed with a score of 80% or better.

What is the final exam like?
Remember: The final examination is essentially a course review and you should not have any problems passing with a score of 80% or higher . In the unlikely event that you do not pass the first time you may retake the exam as many times as necessary at no additional charge from us. If you are completing the exam in the presence of a notary keep in mind that the notary may charge more for each additional signature required.

Identity verification is required by the courts in the following CTSI counties:
Alameda, El Dorado, Humboldt, Kern, Kings, Madera, Monterey, Orange, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Stanislaus, Tulare and Tuolumne.

For the following CCS counties ID verification is now required and the process and fee will be explained to the student after they are linked over to CCS's website to take the final exam:

OPTION 1: Online identity verification ( thru IDology ) - $9.00 non CCS and NTSA counties
During the verification process you will be asked to enter certain information to begin the process. If you are advanced to the next part of the ID verification process you will be given a selection of 3 questions for verification. If you successfully pass the ID verification process you will be able to complete the final exam online.

Will there be an additional cost for the notary ?
There may be an additional cost depending on where you find your notary. Many banks and insurance companies will provide notary services free of charge. Notaries are limited to charging $10.00 per signature. (Remember: mobile notaries may charge for mileage and/or travel time). All additional fees if any are the responsibility of the student.

How can I contact my court ?

What if my deadline or due date has passed?
All of the courts are run a little differently. Some require that you pay for your ticket prior to granting permission to do traffic school. Other courts have you attend traffic school first and then turn in your certificate with your bail amount. Either way your court handles it you are given a completion/due date and this date is to be taken very seriously. If you're due date is within a few days or is past due you may wish to contact the court and request an extension. Many courts grant extensions and will work with you to allow extra time to complete your traffic school obligations.

I have attended traffic school within the past 18 months. Can I take your online traffic school program if I've received another ticket?
Most courts have allowed drivers to attend traffic school just once every 18 months. Most courts have applied this same limitation to home study programs but, in certain cases, an exception may be made. Under Section 41501 of the California Vehicle Code the judge may allow you to take traffic school again to keep a citation off your record even if you have attended traffic school or taken a home study program within the past 18 months. In order to do so you'll have to appear before the court with a good reason why you should be allowed to take traffic school again. The decision is at the sole discretion of the court.
